Modern Website Privacy: Encrypted Client Hello (ECH)

In Plain English

Encrypted Client Hello (ECH) is a newer internet privacy technology that hides information about which website a visitor is connecting to during the initial stages of an encrypted connection.

Why It Matters

Although website traffic may already be encrypted, some connection details can still reveal information to internet service providers or other observers. ECH helps close this privacy gap by encrypting additional connection data.

What Could Happen Without It?

Without ECH, third parties may still be able to determine which websites users are visiting, even if they cannot see the content being viewed. While this doesn’t usually create an immediate security risk, it does reduce privacy.

How WordZite Helps

WordZite supports modern web standards, including technologies like ECH where available, helping improve visitor privacy while ensuring your website remains compatible with current browsers and internet infrastructure.
